Keywords are meant to help you get "qualified" traffic onto your site. So what does qualified entail? If your site is trying to sell a product or get a subscription a casual web surfer that is not in need of your services, would not count as a "qualified" or "potential" client. Keywords are accessed by creating an account through https://ads.google.com/home/ and are used to create ad groups. When you create various ad groups you launch them all in a big campaign called an ad campaign, these campaigns are paid for, but you get to choose how much you will spend by setting a daily budget. [Don't set it to high, or you'll end up owing a lot of money to Google]

So how do Keywords and ad campaigns help you? You use keywords to assume what people are searching for, and then google places your page ad in front of potential clients. It's called Marketing. Without it, no one would know that your cute business even exists. But if you're like me, when other business owners would tell me "you have to make sure you market to the right demographics, and the right people." I would just think to myself..."Uhm yeah, but how do I find out what people are looking for, and who my potential demographics are?" Well Google has your back! (no I'm not about to tell you to just do a million google searches) You can use sites like Google Trends to find out more about your potential customers and their shopping habits.

You could also use the google ads tools [like Keyword Planner] available on your ads.google.com dashboard. About your audience. Some other great google sites include: Google Search Console, this site helps you rank higher in searches, and Google Webmaster helps you learn more about site design, that will help you turn visitors into potential customers.

One last thing to remember, when you do SEO with google ads, keep in mind that you're looking for quality over quantity. And when you are looking for keywords, it is important to look for keywords with high search volumes & low competition.
